| Fall 2005 ~ This mare sits 52 out of 444 horses in all of the U.S. who are competing in Dressage which is an outstanding accomplishment for one of our Spanish-Norman horses. | ||||
| Balar makes her home in California. She is owned by Susan Minger. Susan wrote: "My trainer took her out for training level 3 and 4. She won both of her classes, with scores in the 70s. She is a very lovely horse." I feel very fortunate to have her in my life". | ||||
| We are thrilled to hear about this mare and look forward to new photos and updates on how she's doing. | ||||

October 2005 Update from Susan |
||||
|
If you are familiar with
the United States Dressage Federation website, you can find her
scores and her ranking with the other horses at Training level.
(The two August shows aren't recorded yet, but everything through
July is). You probably know this, but if not, just go to
www.usdf.org, click on "Competitions/Awards", then on "2005
Preliminary Standings". Choose "Dressage Horse of the
Year"---under that, choose Training-Fourth. You will find Balar
listed at number 52 (based on her median score compared with all the
other horses competing at Training level). It will probably drop
some with the rest of the scores coming in, but still you can see
she really holds her own with the big Warmbloods! I read in the
USDF publication that the horses who qualify and are ranked there
are the top 10% of those competing. If you click on her name, the
scores that have been sent in will show. People are always asking
at shows what breed she is.
|
||||
| And, even if she were not doing so well in the show circuit, she is such a pleasure to be around! I didn't particularly think about showing when I got her (and I'm still not ready myself!)-- but she is too nice to keep at home! | ||||
